Barn X is a highly sustainable, net zero carbon workplace in the English countryside, with architecture and interiors by LOM architecture and design.
Created for Rare Games, a Microsoft XBox Game Studio, Barn X is a creative space designed to bring people together in a friendly, open working environment.
The practice’s design is conceived as a contemporary barn, using a timber frame structure for support and solar shading, to create a building that is both modern and rooted in its environment.
The judges said: ‘Great use of renewable materials with sustainability at the heart of the project.’
