Hawkins\Brown is an internationally renowned practice of architects, interior designers, and researchers, with studios in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Dublin, and Toronto.
The practice brings a collaborative approach to projects across a range of types and scales in six main sectors: civic, community & culture, education, workplace, transport & infrastructure, healthcare, and residential.
The Interior Design team, led by Morag Morrison, brings empathy to people and their work across all sectors. Whether it’s from the experience of an individual using a building, or the long-term impact on a community, the practice work by creating identity, introducing new ways of working, creating a rich mix of uses, and making the most of existing buildings.
A diverse portfolio is just one area which sets Hawkins\Brown apart; from old libraries and new schools to lab-enabled offices, listed town halls and underground stations. Others are the liberal use of colour in all their projects and the ongoing promotion of artist collaborations.
Nowhere demonstrates this better than the practice’s new London HQ, the former Vitra showroom on Clerkenwell Road, that has been transformed into an exemplar of smarter ways of working creatively, healthily and sustainably, and comes complete with artist’s hut by Richard Woods, stunning multi-coloured graphics by architect June Tong across 850 sq. ft of shop window, and an ox-blood feature staircase.
