Commercial interior design business Building Interiors is celebrating 15 years in business by committing to support 15 identified charities in its financial year.
The Leeds-based company has so far supported ten causes. These include the Rob Burrow Centre for MND through sending care packages to bereaved families and carers, donating 165kg of food (nearly 400 meals) to Leeds Food bank, and raising £1,350 in support of St Gemma’s Hospice through a whole team bake sale.
Several members of the team took on the ‘100 Miles in May’ challenge to raise awareness and support for Breast Cancer Now, and site manager, Davd Webb, achieved his first-ever 10K run to raise £910 for armed forces charity SSAFA.
Building Interiors has also supported grassroots youth sport through sponsoring new football tops for an U14 girls’ team and donated 250 selection boxes to a primary school for its Christmas gala.
The team participated in Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for Save the Children and also took part in the RevivR CPR training – a 15-minute course that taught them how to respond in an emergency.
More recently the entire team raised funds for The MS Trust.
Some of the causes yet to benefit include Crohn’s & Colitis UK, Activate Against Cancer, Andy’s Man Club.
Building Interiors is topping up donations for all 15 charities with £250 each.
Ian Brough, founder and managing director at Building Interiors, said: ‘We are immensely proud to achieve 15 years in business despite some incredibly challenging economic times. We have not only survived, but we have grown from just two people to a team of 27 inspired individuals.
‘Whilst we have enjoyed 30% growth year-on-year for the last five years, this has never been our sole ambition. We are in the business to grow as individuals, become more skilful and have fun along the way. Our team culture has rewarded us with some of the best people in the industry who have been personally instrumental in choosing the beneficiaries of our “15 years with 15 ways to give back” campaign.’
