The housing project on the periphery of Istanbul, in Kayabasi district, creates a non-centralized rhizomatic urban tissue with recreational and social hybridizations. Modular customizations, interactive social environments, economical and ecological solutions have been integrated into the core design theme.

Interaction among the users is promoted by large green areas running the length of the building complex. The design of the housing complex features single modules that appear to slide back and forth randomly. Each module is designed to offer individualized spaces and creates economical construction methods.

The wooden structure of the building creates a textured facade of green gardens. Apart from the private gardens, the residential complex features a large communal rooftop space for gardening.

Istanbul Kayabasi Housing Design Competition, a national idea competition, was conducted by Housing development Administration of Turkey (TOKI).
