The project, which began in May 2008, sees the renovation of existing space and has added new areas of workspace to the facility. The project was undertaken to clear up congestion in the facility and to improve the patient inflow and outflow.
The emergency room has been expanded and improved along with an improvement to the outpatient surgery unit and the admissions/registration area.
The emergency room has received space to add 12 beds, up from the previous six bed capacity. The outpatient surgery unit also sees an increased space to house more beds. Some rooms in the radiology department have also undergone renovation and improvement.
The last major construction at the hospital took place in 1999 when the women’s center was added to the facility.
