According to the Muskegon Chronicle, campus renovations include construction of a College Success Center and an outdoor teaching area. The second phase of renovations will start soon; the first phase of $3.2 million renovation started in 2005.

Joe Doyle, the college’s associate vice president of administration, told the local paper that the library space would be renovated to house a College Success Center, aiding students who are academically underperforming. Construction of a testing room is also in the renovation plan.

Interior decor improvements occupy a major part of the renovation project. An elevator will be installed to make the former library area more accessible. The former library site is in the center of the main campus building.

Improvements to lighting installations will also be undertaken. Doyle also said that ceiling tiles in the Student Union will also be replaced, while the student Union building will also get additional computer stations and a food service area.

Green elements are also incorporated in the refurbishment plan: an outdoor teaching station will be created on the roof of the former library, with plants and flowers to be planted in the 11,000 square feet space.
