The project would include the replacement of roofs at the High School, Coxsackie Elementary School, and EJ Arthur Elementary School; replacement of two 43-year old boilers with high efficiency boilers at each of the elementary schools; replacement of classroom gravity vents with exhaust fan system and corridor cabinet heaters in the 1953 and 1971 sections of the middle school as well as family and consumer sciences classroom in the high school; replacement of classroom and corridor lighting fixtures at the high school and older section of the middle school.
The plans also involve renovation of entrances at each school building to increase security; repair of the disintegrating brick face and replacement of exterior doors and frames at the high school; emergency lighting upgrades; and the installation of photo voltaic roof top arrays (solar panels) at the high school along with Coxsackie Elementary and E J Arthur Elementary School to reduce electricity usage.
Voting will take place at the Coxsackie Elementary and EJ Arthur Elementary schools between 1pm and 9pm on December 14, 2009.
