The library has leakage from the roof of the third floor, which often affects the second floor during heavy rain, according to computer lab technician Chester Gifford. Heidi Vix, the systems and electronic resources librarian confirmed, adding that they face the dilemma of where to store the books during rain.
When asked by media sources, Bobby Jones, the vice president of finance and administration gave an estimate of $140,000 for the renovation of the roof. The cost is high because the existing roof being constructed over an older one during earlier renovation.
The renovation would also have to address the concern of wiring including the network cables for computers which needs to be run across the walls.
