Located in the vacant former JJB unit, next door to Boots, the new River Island store will be significantly bigger than the existing one, and will also stock men’s fashion, as well as a bigger range of women’s accessories and shoes, unlike the old Rochdale store.
With an extensive shop fit already underway in the new unit, a spokesman for River Island said that the store will serve to epitomize the brand’s design ethos and provide a modern and forward thinking environment in which to shop. He adds that the design of the store combines retro and contemporary materials reflective of River Island stores across the country.
Apart from River Island, the Exchange Centre will also house other fashion brands and is in the final stages of signing up an independent women’s fashion retailer called Redd.
River Island has over 250 stores across UK, Ireland, Europe, and Middle East.
