Designers of the Boundary Hotel in London, Conran & Partners have been shortlisted for two awards – for the best conversion of an existing building to hotel use, and for interior design of the year.

Richmond International, which worked at the Langham hotel in London, is competing for the award for best café, bar, nightclub or lounge against fellow UK group Richard Daniels Design for The Augustine in Prague.

Jestico & Whiles’ is competing for the best lobby and public areas award for designing Andel’s Lodz hotel in Poland and for the best suite award for its work on Moscow’s Pokrovka Suite Hotel, while Wilsdon Design Associates’ work on 1901 in London is up against Project Orange’s work on Belfast’s Fitzwilliam Hotel in the restaurant design category.

DW2 Design Consultants, Bevis and LRW Interior Design are competing in the category for best standard branded guestroom for their work on Hotel Indigo Paddington, Radisson Blu Ambassador Hotel in Paris and The Manchester, Crowne Plaza respectively.

The awards will be announced on November 2, 2009 at London’s Hilton Park Lane hotel.

In its twelfth year, the European Hotel Design Awards are the acclaimed celebration of hotel design in Europe recognizing the work of architects, designers and developers.
