The renovation project has been initiated by participants in the Leadership B.C. Nanaimo program.

A non-profit organization that provides free, one-to-one mentoring services to children, Big Brothers Big Sisters and multi-service volunteer center, Volunteer Nanaimo, will receive a fresh and modern office space thanks to dozens of volunteers in the community.

The 15,000 square feet office space will get new carpets, new painting on the walls and new countertops. The homemade paper sign taped to the front window will be replaced and a new sign for the front door will be installed.

The organizations deserve these voluntary services due to the good things they offer to the community, says Dorothy Fahr, a Vancouver Island University interior design graduate who will be part of the project.
