The Australian Automatic Door Company’s (ADIS) NGD toilet door system operates automatically; it opens and shuts upon lapse of a predetermined hold-open time.
The user activates the illuminated sign ‘occupied’ outside the compartment as well as the control lamp at the changeover switch from inside the toilet cabin. This switches off the interior and exterior pads simultaneously. The user has to operate the changeover switch to illumine the sign ‘vacant’ outside the compartment while leaving the lavatory.
The door can be manually pushed or pulled open in case of a power failure and can also be opened from outside using a key in case of emergency.
