O’Donnell & Tuomey, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, de Rijke Marsh Morgan, David Chipperfield, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, and 3XN are the six finalists to the RIBA competition for a new students’ center for LSE.
Teams will receive a GBP6,000 ($9,000) honorarium and they are expected to create concept designs for the proposed student’s center at LSE’s Aldwych campus, UK.
The facility will feature a student union reception, bars, café, entertainment venues, advice and counseling center, fitness suite, inter-faith prayer center, media facilities and offices, as as a pre-school nursery.
The LSE expects the design features of the new building to achieve a BREEAM “outstanding” rating.
The Royal Institute of British Architects is the UK body for architecture and the architectural profession.
