Bronwyn Pike, Education Minister said that the major project was part of the biggest school building program in Victoria’s history.

Stage Two works at Vermont Secondary College include new and refurbished classrooms, a new multi-media lecture theatre, extensive site development and services infrastructure upgrade.

The total cost of the project is $7.5 million with the Victorian Government contributing $6.3 million and the local community contributing $1.2 million.

The current construction work follows a 2005 refurbishment of the music, arts graphics, home economics, technology studies, canteen and student lockers, made possible through $1.9 million from the Victorian Government, $1.1 million from the Commonwealth Government and a local contribution of $383,000.
