The expansion project will include the addition of an 85,000 square feet building and remodelling more than 100,000 square feet. This project is designed to improve the hospital’s newborn intensive care units (ICU) and maternity units, as well as its cardiac surgery program.
The project will expand the hospital’s newborn intensive care unit from 47 beds to 66 beds, as well as improve spaces for visiting families. The hospital will also add a second operating room for cardiac surgery.
Construction is expected to start in 2011 and is slated for a late 2014 completion.
