The AED3 billion ($816.6 million approx) Mirdif City Centre has been developed by Majid Al Futtaim Properties, owners and managers of the region’s innovative retail and leisure malls.

Mirdif City Centre is a two-level super-regional mall on a similar scale to Mall of the Emirates, featuring many new brands to the UAE and offers shopping, entertainment, dining and leisure facilities.

One of Mirdif City Centre’s distinct points of difference is its approach to sustainability and the environment. Mirdif City Centre will be the first shopping center in the Middle East to achieve a Gold Rating for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), the sustainability rating system developed by the US Green Building Council.

The mall comprises 3,116,451 square feet of gross floor area spread over a service basement ground, and first floor. The mall contains 430 shops with adjacent three-level parking for over 7000 cars and is anchored by a Carrefour hypermarket, a Magic Planet Entertainment zone which will contain a sky diving experience as well as indoor five-a-side football pitches.

In addition, the mall will contain eight standard and two gold class cinemas and a mass of high quality brands such as Debenhams, Zara, Home Centre, Paris Gallery, Virgin Megastores and a high end gym with pool facilities. The project also comprises 7000 plus car parking spaces, 132kv substation, 54MW cooling plant and highway interchange.

Mace, the consultancy and construction firm with offices across Europe, Middle East and Asia, served as the project manager.
