The designer has made additions to the 20 deluxe rooms including two two-bedroom suites at the new oceanfront facility. Oldham’s originally designed property had opened in 1998, at 801 Collins Avenue. The two properties share similar amenities, including room service by Wish, an award-winning restaurant, the Spire Bar & Lounge, an emerald-shaped rooftop swimming pool, fully equipped rooftop gym, small conference facility and meeting rooms.
The rooms feature Oldham’s daybeds, covered in a rich brown and sand hounds-tooth pattern that double as window seats, providing a perfect perch for guests to gaze out over the ocean. White linen clad pillow-top mattresses are topped by knitted throws. Oversized benches at the foot of each bed, full-length gold framed mirrors, and oversized ottomans decorated in brown chenille dots, desks and bureaus featuring artisan-crafted mosaic handles, fabrics and bathroom tiles handmade exclusively for the property are other features of the property.
Recessed lighting and lamps have been placed at each bedside. Custom-made carpets in brown and orange tweed swath the floors. Windows, composed of double-paned glass have been incorporated to keep rooms quiet and cool, are dressed in Roman shades in a custom, two-tone striped fabric of burnt orange. Modern bureaus, desks and end tables are crafted of solid, golden-toned mahogany, accented by textured, artisan-woven veneers.
In the grooming area, floors showcase Oldham’s signature tile ‘rug’, concentric rectangles and squares of gold, coral, plum and gray set in a field of white. The sizeable glass enclosed showers feature white keystone tiles and oversized shower heads, with customized built-in benches clad in quartz and peach. An amber-tinted cove light above the lavatory and a back-lit mirror with vertical light coves makes viewing easy on the eyes.
All accommodations feature remote 42 inches flat-screen cable televisions with movie channels. Technology touches include built-in iPod stations as well as Wi-Fi connections, and a two-line telephone with voice mail technology.
