The $32.5 million project has transformed the school with a completely new look. One of the change involves security while entering the building during school hours. Visitors are required to press a button which will activate a camera in the front office. A staff member must buzz the person in, with the door relocking after five seconds. Cameras are also placed throughout the building including the halls as well as the entire parking lot.
Other renovations include the addition of doors in classrooms on the second floor, which has made teaching easier. The facility has been expanded by about 50% in size with the interiors of the building being finished in a new coat of paint. A new auditorium with a capacity of 660 people was also added by replacing the old auditorium located at the school’s new main office.
Additional landscaping and painting is still remaining. The project is slated to be complete in August, 2010.
