The first phase of renovation includes refurbishment of the hotel’s rooms, while the rest of the rooms are set to be ready by July 2010. Jim Thompson’s chenille canvas wall fabrics are used in the room along with the teak wood and pradou cabinetry.
The facilities in the rooms has been upgraded, which incorporates new flat screen televisions and integrated bars. The televisions are installed behind grey mirrors. The compartmental shower and toilet areas in the bathroom are modified in Sukhothai black granite and mirrored cabinets. The bedroom and bathroom are refurbished with the new teak wood floor.
Edward Tuttle was reported stating that the major concern behind the remodeling of the bedrooms was to keep the classical image of the hotel.
