The rebranded hotel is now a part of Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, an upscale brand of US-based hospitality group Marriott International. The extensive renovation of public spaces and guest rooms features new design aesthetic inspired by its Michigan locale.
The lobby has been designed in the ambiance of a Northern Michigan lake cabin retreat and features cozy seating, a beautiful glass sculpture chimney and ribbon fire place. The lobby and guest rooms are adorned with artworks from Michigan artists. Handpicked under the direction of renowned art curator, Paige Powell, each sculpture and painting was inspired by Detroit’s music, industrial and automotive history.
The renovated guestrooms and suites feature luxurious bedding, walk-in showers, deep-soaking tubs, fiber optic high-speed Internet and 37-inch flat screen televisions. The Baronette Renaissance Detroit-Novi Hotel also includes the Toasted Oak Grill & Market, operated by Sage Restaurant Group and features a menu of American brasserie cuisine created by Michigan native Chef Steven Grsotick. The menu lays emphasis on local and fresh produce. The Grill also features a market and wine shop.
The hotel’s new Wellness Center offers state-of-the-art exercise equipment including treadmills with an HD TV screen and iPod connection. The center also features a massage therapy room.
The 155-room hotel is managed by Colorado-based Sage Hospitality Group and is situated close to one of Detroit’s premier shopping destinations, the Twelve Oaks Mall and nearby Fountain Walk shops, dining and entertainment complex.
