The renovated stadium will feature the Chiefs Hall of Honor, currently known as the Chiefs Hall of Fame, and ‘horizon level’ seating in which luxury suite owners will sit outdoors. New player and coaches’ facilities will be added to the stadium.
The improved stadium features two new football-shaped high-definition score/video boards. A new LED ribbon board encircling the stadium interior is another distinct feature added as part of the renovation. The floodlights on the north side of the stadium have been enhanced. The total seating capacity has been reduced by about 2,000. The number of premium suites have been increased with the existing ones deepened.
Opened in 1972, Arrowhead is the 24th largest stadium in North America and fourth largest NFL Stadium in seating capacity. On August 15, 2007, the Chiefs announced final plans for the renovated Arrowhead Stadium, which will cost $375 million. The cost was increased by $50 million due to an additional payment by the Hunt Family, who owns the Chiefs.
