The dwelling has been divided into two separate zones, with 4300 square feet zone for the owners and remaining for family and friends.
Serving as a contrast to the neighboring homes that have been designed in the style of European cultures, the Desert Wing features a typical Sonoran desert theme. The home features solid walls made of concrete to block the desert and sun. The indoors and outdoors of the house are connected to each other with the help of an invisible line of glass, which is covered with overhangs.
The roofs of this dwelling are planar, designed in a folded pattern to conserve the rain water, which would be dispersed into the surrounding greenery.
Materials were chosen for beauty as well as utility. The roof of the house is made of copper and mined materials. Rammed Earth walls which are made of soil excavated from the site, echoes the forms of the surrounding mountain range.
