Designed by New York-based architectural design company Cannon Design, the $55 million Sparkling Hill Resort and Wellness Hotel is a luxurious European-inspired hotel specializing in whole body wellness. The guest rooms are designed to provide a distinctive experience which challenges conventional expectations, with floor-to-ceiling windows emphasizing the views from the mountaintop.

The architecture of the resort is distinct for its fluid style that respects the natural landscape which is dominated with imposing mountains, refreshing waters, lush vineyards, world-class golf courses, and skiing.

Swarovski crystal elements have been incorporated into every aspect of its design. Swarovski Crystal designer Andreas Altamayer has been instrumental in adorning the entire hotel space including indoor waterfalls, fireplaces, tiles, roof and overhead lights with crystal elements.

The center of attraction of the new Sparkling Hill Resort and Wellness Centre is a three-story glass atrium. The architects have replicated the multifaceted twinkle of crystal into this complex structure. The glass structure work has been carried out in collaboration with Vancouver-based Stella Custom Glass Hardware. Stella’s tension cables and point-supported glass hardware have been integrated to sustain more than 90 uniquely shaped pieces of glass, angled at different directions in the 3D space.

The end result has fulfilled the vision of the architects to create ‘a structure on a mountaintop that literally sparkles.’
