Villa Nyberg has been customized for the Nyberg family and is situated in Borlänge, Central Sweden. With this house building initiative, Kjellgren Kaminsky is attempting to make this eco-friendly building technique available to all.

The Villa Nyberg spanning 1,700 square feet has been constructed following all the passive house principles. It is extremely airtight and energy-efficient, and will consume only 25 kWh/square meters per year for heating.

One of the most notable features of the new house is its circular design. The round shape eliminates cold bridges and reduces the enclosing wall area of the house. The home features an interior atrium, lake-facing kitchen and living room. Private areas such as bedrooms and bathrooms are positioned on the other side of the home.

Passive house is a specific design standard from Germany and Austria, which fundamentally consists of an energy limit, a quality requirement and a defined set of passive systems. Passive design features superior insulation, high performance windows and doors, excellent air tightness, open floor layout, healthy indoor environment and highly efficient heat recovery.

Emrahus was formed with the vision to offer low energy houses for the Swedish market.
