Yueda 889 in Shanghai and The MIXc in Hangzhou, the first completed projects on a slate of ongoing projects for Callison’s Shanghai office, recently celebrated their grand opening ceremonies.

Yueda 889 is designed by Callison as a mixed-use community hub. A transparent glass canopy connects a four-level shopping center and a grand open-air civic plaza with an iconic high-rise office tower. The center is developed by the Yueda Real Estate Development Company in Shanghai.

The MIXc has been developed in partnership by two of China’s major developers, China Resources and Sun Hung Kai Properties. Callison provided master planning and architecture design for the landmark, mixed-use development. The MIXc includes 520,132 square meters of retail, office, residential and a Park Hyatt hotel, as well as architecture and interior design for the shopping center housing top international brands, a state-of-the-art ice rink and multiplex cinemas. Both centers are currently 100% leased.

To date, the 35 year-old firm has designed nearly 100 projects in more than 25 cities in China.
