The new kitchen and bathrooms will be studded with works by Italian firms, who are currently almost unknown in the UK, including kitchens from Strato and modulnova and bathrooms from Moma, Fantini, Agape and Cea.

A Strato kitchen is considered to be a flawlessly articulated and engineered masterpiece of functional design. Strato’s ‘one block’ mastery is poised between sculpture and architecture. Designed by Marco Gorini and built in his own factory in the Lombardy region of Italy, only 300 Strato kitchens are produced each year. Each one is designed and built to order as a complete one off, combining advanced manufacturing techniques and the traditional cabinet making skills which are the Gorini family’s heritage.

Being seen for the first time in the UK, the young, progressive Italian company Modulnova redefines the kitchen with exciting solutions for modern living. Doors glide effortlessly to reveal all the paraphernalia of a busy kitchen and, when the doors are closed, each module becomes a stunning piece of furniture in its own right. Finishes include lacquers and book matched veneers in exotic timbers. Modulnova answers the most demanding of design briefs. With its combination of clean lines and purpose-designed interior fittings, the kitchen can be wholly tailored to clients’ style and budget.

Alternative Plans are also introducing Modulnova’s highly refined bathrooms. Taking their lead from kitchen planning and technologies, Modulnova’s designers explore new approaches to the look and the functionality of the bathroom. Purpose-designed cabinetry is custom-made in over 50 different colour choices and finishes. Baths, basins and showers are clean, austere shapes, available in both natural stones and advanced hi-tech materials.

Alternative Plans is showcasing Italian company Moma’s products in their own right. The unique custom- made portfolio includes highly architectural baths, basins and showerheads in Corian and modular bathroom furniture in hardwoods including ebony and wenge.

High design meets high function in the Cea collection of taps for bathrooms and kitchens. Leading architectural designers including Massimo Broglio conceive simple, elegant and intriguing forms for the Veneto-based Cea. Engineered entirely from high grade stainless steel, their taps incorporate the newest technologies, from energy saving filters to flow regulators.

Since 1947, Fantini has been applying the principles of precision engineering to the design and manufacture of beautiful taps. From taps to showerheads, every piece made in Fantini’s factory in Pella is treated as an individual work of art.

Agape was formed in 1973, with a vision of a total rethink of forms, materials and applications. Working with both established and up-and-coming designers, Agape continues to evolve through new works and bold concepts.

For over 20 years Alternative Plans manages every element of its clients’ kitchen projects, from design to the installation of the last finishing detail.
