St. John Medical Center, University Hospitals and the Sisters of Charity Health System have together announced the hospital’s five-year, $100 million strategic plan, which includes expansion and modernization of the hospital. St. John Medical Center, a partnership hospital between University Hospitals and Sisters of Charity Health System, is a 194-bed Catholic health care provider.
The plans recently announced by the entities include a number of renovations and technology upgrades with an intention to enhance patient satisfaction and expand community benefits.
The plan includes the creation of a new, non-invasive lab area for Biometrics, expanded space for endoscopy and a Breast Health Center, and an expanded parking lot. Renovation of all patient rooms, the front entrances and lobby and surgery areas to allow for increased capacity are some other schemes.
The 1981-opened hospital, which was created by merging St. John Hospital and Bay View Osteopathic General Hospital in Bay Village, was first known as St. John West Shore Hospital.
