The stadium, formerly named PGE Park, is home to the Portland Timbers, who will host their first home match in Major League Soccer on 14 April. The new stadium has been unveiled after a $31 million renovation that began in 2010.
The Jeld-Wen Field currently extends from north to south, with new seating and clubhouse on the east side. It also features new field turf, a new scoreboard complete with a JumboTron, new seats, signs and concessions, and bigger locker and training rooms.
The new facility will offer a wide range of fan-friendly features, innovations and services such as a club lounge and restaurant. Featuring a rectangular geometry, the new field is suitable for both American football and soccer. The stadium will be able to accommodate less than 19,000.
The stadium is owned by the city of Portland, and is managed by Peregrine Sports, LLC, the entity that owns Portland Timbers. Prior to the 2011 MLS season, the stadium was re-named Jeld-Wen Field in a partnership with Klamath Falls, and Oregon-based company Jeld-Wen.
