The upgrade in the Terminal A’s northern end involves ripping out walls, ceilings and floors and replace them with new and improved concessions, gate areas and other amenities.
The existing tile flooring will be replaced with a smooth terrazzo flooring. Terminal A is also expected to consume less energy after the renovation. The plumbing, heating as well as cooling systems of the airport will also be upgraded as part of the refurbishment works.
The revamp of the northern end of Terminal A will be followed by renovation of the central part and the southern portion. The first segment of Terminal A upgrade is scheduled to be completed within 14 to 15 months. Work on terminals B, C and E will begin after completion of work on Terminal A.
