The upgrades include refurbishments on the grand lobby, over 75,000 square feet of ballrooms and meeting areas as well as 32 executive bi-level suites.

The 528-room hotel encompasses large public spaces with the lobby featuring walnut-veneers designed for massive columns, custom 10′ by 5′ crystal chandeliers and a 15′-high sculptural bar. The front portion of the registration desk, the curved bar and the walnut-veneered columns displaying embedded sconces have been illuminated by backlit honey onyx panels. The entire lobby area incorporates a warm glow.

The upgrades have been carried out by the firm in collaboration with Dallas-based artist Brad Oldham who has created a collection of sculptural elements for the building’s interior and exterior. His artistic renderings include a tall 15′ by 15′ wall sculpture lit up with colour-changing LED lights that illuminates the entry to the hotel’s new restaurant Q de Cheval, designed by ForrestPerkins. Also included are the six resin and wire tree sculptures placed along the width of the dramatic back bar facing the lobby lounge in addition to four sculptural elements situated at the exterior entry fountain.

The executive bi-level suites of the hotel have been painted in shades of cream, caramel and bronze with teal highlights with textures of hammered metal, embossed leathers and locally-sourced stones. Custom-designed lighting has been installed across the entire ballrooms with the meeting areas equipped with colourful custom carpets.
