The plant was originally constructed in 2008. It incorporates several green features like installation of energy-efficient systems to reduce energy consumption by 35% over a traditional building and inclusion of natural sky-lights and ventilation.
The facility allows rain water to be conserved and harvested. Further, it stores water and recycles it for other purposes within the facility which helps reduce water usage. The materials used during the construction of the facility are sustainable and hence, ensure safety of the occupants. About 60% of the building site features open and green space with every other minute detail being eco-friendly.
