The project commenced in July 2011. The temple, located on a 5-acre site, encompasses an area of about 36,000 square feet. It will be adorned with new finishes and furnishings following the facelift. A basement spanning 5,000 square feet will be added to the southern portion of the facility. The new basement will substitute a maintenance shop and storage space and will house a grounds shop, maintenance space, broiler as well as chiller rooms. The bathrooms in the building will also undergo an overhaul as part of the project.

New landscaping featuring new plants as well as features like sidewalks, benches and a water fountain will take the place of the old in the revamped facility. Further, the temple will be strengthened through incorporation of shear walls, steel beams and floor joists whereas a mezzanine will be created to facilitate maintenance issues.

The facility is expected to open in July 2012.
