The new inpatient unit ensures safety, privacy and dignity of the occupants. The center’s patients rooms, also called home, will have two double rooms and 25 private rooms. The walls of the rooms will be adorned with calming artworks and the rooms will receive abundant sunlight. The overhead lighting will feature controls for dimming the lights during sunrise and sunset for fostering treatment of sleep disturbances.

The new facility will have three day rooms called neighborhood, which is a replica of life, for restoring normal psychology and physical behavior patterns. The day rooms will allow patients to watch education DVDs, socialize or play games. Additionally, this area will also have computers for assisting patients in connection to the outside world and their families. This area also features a meditation room with special and customizable lighting.

The treatment mall or working downtown is a place where patients will receive group sessions, for helping them to progress from inpatient to outpatient care. Additonally, the center also houses an exercise room.

The construction of the building was based on the principles of on-stage/off-stage. The on-stage area is an area where patients are given care, and this area has separate entrance and exit so as to give access to only those professionals who are engaged in the treatment. The off-stage area is targeted at maintaining privacy of the patients by providing restricted access to assigned support personnel who are directly involved with the treatment of the patient.
