The 59,000 square feet terminal will have four buildings, of which three are complete and the fourth building will be completed later. The first building will house offices for ticketing and counters for baggage check-in and scanning. The second building of the terminal will function as a proper terminal. The third building will be used as a secured boarding lounge that will be used only by ticketed passengers.
The new terminal features a cocktail lounge, seating arrangement and restaurant for the convenience and comfort of the travelers. The terminal also features a gift shop, a news stand and restrooms.
The secure boarding area of the terminal also has its own vending area, gift shop and restrooms. The new terminal will have four new loading bridges for ensuring hassle free boarding into the aircraft. Once the terminal becomes operational, the old terminal will be demolished and the site will be used for creating a baggage zone and car rental.
