The project will be developed by Woodbridge Township Redevelopment Agency and also includes overhaul of the Stern, Olsen, Finn, Adams and Geiner Towers senior housing complexes. Work will commence with upgrades to five unoccupied units at Cooper Towers which houses a total of 75 apartments.
The living rooms of the building will feature new flooring, new windows, as well as a new entrance door comprising a peep hole following the makeover. Its bedrooms will be fitted with new flooring and windows and will be painted in new shades.
The kitchens of the revamped units will incorporate new flooring, cabinets, countertops, hardware, refrigerators, stove and dishwasher. The new kitchens will be also be repainted. The bathrooms of the facility will be equipped with new cabinets, floors, fixtures, toilets, sinks, tub and shower grab bars as part of the facelift. The new cabinets and grab bars will be positioned at low heights to facilitate the disabled.
The project will be financed with money on deposit available with the Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Work is slated for completion by December 2011.
