The vessel has been designed by Scaro Design in collaboration with Bill Dixon while High Modulus was in charge of the engineering work. It is strong yet light owing to the presence of composite materials which includes an epoxy structure reinforced by carbon fibre.

Hakuna Matata features a pair of large VIP cabins and two guest cabins. All the cabins are equipped with individual bathrooms, elegant entertainment equipment as well as roomy storage areas. The vessel also accommodates a full-beam master cabin on the main deck with a high overhead. The entryway to this cabin incorporates a luxurious study which is linked to the main salon. The salon consists of two spacious and separate sections for sitting and dining. The interior of the super-yacht dons a soothing colour palette to enhance the comfort level.

The yacht is powered by twin 2.150 hp MTU engines and possesses a maximum speed of 22 knots. In addition, it is MCA compliant and is built to conform to RINA Charter Class specifications.
