W Hotels Worldwide to open new W Paris – Opéra hotel in France

The hotel, built inside a heritage building of the 1870s Haussman period, has been designed by W Global Brand Design in collaboration with Rockwell Group Europe. The design of the hotel draws reference from the theme of The Spark with an integration of the contemporary New York spirit and the elegance of Paris.

The facility will feature a massive digital undulating wall illuminated from the rear. The wall will serve as a unifying factor for the hotel’s public and private areas. The spark will incorporate a dotted style creating abstract clouds. The wall will sport varied tempos to keep in tune with the mood of various seasons, events, time, and location. The lifts, DJ booth and staircases will don shades of red.

Partial restoration work will be carried out on the building’s 19th century architectural features like decorative columns, vaulted ceilings, marble staircases, and fireplaces. The original stained glass windows and mosaic floor on the facility’s second storey will be retained in their original form.

The hotel will encompass five floors while housing 91 large guest rooms including 20 suites and a pair of Extreme WOW Suites. The guestrooms and suites will feature high ceilings having dimensions of a maximum of three and a half metres in height, and offer views of the surrounding Opéra Garnier and the streets of Paris.

The look will be complemented by a backlit bridge covering the entrance corridor with white patterned lights, a sculptural faucet, breaking molding, and artistic renderings of various Paris-based artists. The Extreme WOW Suites will comprise a shower hidden behind two huge classical Parisian doors. The suite’s centre comprises a large circular bed measuring three metres.

The building’s ground and mezzanine levels with a social area and the living room will allow Opéra Garnier views. A black resin bar replicating a molten sculpture and other custom-made furnishings will adorn the grand entrance of the hotel. Other features of the facility include a signature restaurant and destination bar, and the SWEAT fitness centre.
