The community named College of Staten Island Residences will feature a pair of L-shaped buildings covering four and five floors. The buildings will span about 172,000 square feet housing 133 apartments with a total bed capacity of 454. The apartments will sport 24 two-bedroom and one-bathroom single occupancy units, 67 three-bedroom and two-bathroom double occupancy units, as well as 32 four-bedroom and two-bathroom single occupancy units. There will also be nine resident assistant units, and one resident director unit.

All the apartments will be equipped with a dining table and chairs, entertainment centre, coffee table, soft seating facilities, one or more bathrooms, a kitchen featuring range and oven, refrigerator and sink. The residents of the facility will possess their individual closets, semi-private vanity space with sink, bed, desk, chair, along with stackable dresser in the bedroom/bath area. Laundry facilities, resident mailroom, fitness centre, conference rooms, a social lounge with TV and seating, administrative offices, mechanical and maintenance spaces, and public restrooms will be among the other features of the property. In addition, the community will employ green measures conforming to LEED Silver standards.

The project has been funded with $65.8 million in tax-exempt Residential Revenue Bonds and $2 million in taxable bonds. The bonds have been issued by The New York City Housing Development Corporation. The facility is expected to complete construction within nearly 17 months and is slated to be open for occupancy by 2013 end.
