One Tower Bridge is nestled between three of the city’s most important icons: Tower Bridge, the River Thames and the Tower of London, and offers nine architecturally diverse buildings featuring a range of distinctive interiors. Conran and Partners’ vision was to draw on the deep understanding of the area, its history, ethos and individuality and blend it with luxury in a contemporary residential design. From this synthesis, individual interiors were created for each building, reflective of the positioning, vantage and architecture.
The interiors of One Tower Bridge combine old with new, dark with light and contemporary with traditional materials. The designers added that in one building style used for York, Windsor and Lancaster House, the associations with trade and industry are reflected in the warm, comfortable interiors. It features crafted details including timber finishes combined with natural tones to create contemporary, characterful and inviting spaces.
In another building style used for Tudor House, crisp internal spaces are bright, with timber combined with neutral tones, white and accents of colour to create fresh, individual spaces. The resulting interior spaces feature a sophisticated urban personality.
At the heart of the design for each apartment are the prerequisites for contemporary luxury living. Each of the apartments is fully fitted with the finest materials and appliances, with bespoke joinery throughout from individually designed oak cabinets for the custom-designed ergonomically planned kitchens to custom-made storage in the living rooms and extensive wardrobe space.
The apartments also feature the latest in integrated Smart Home Technology, allowing residents remote access to adjust the automated blinds and switch on the underfloor heating system or air conditioning as they disembark from a long haul flight, as well as control the state-of-the-art security system. The technology hub also communicates wirelessly with the lift, automatically recognizing residents and delivering them to their floor.
Residents at One Tower Bridge will have access to a 24-hour concierge managed by Harrods Estates, a residents’ pool, a virtual golf facility, a fully equipped gymnasium, a spa facility with sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi and a residents-only business centre with lounge. There will also be a boutique hotel, in the existing Grade II listed St Olave’s school, with a restaurant for 250 guests.
One Tower Bridge residents will live directly next door to Potters Fields Park, part of the Thames Walk, and will benefit from access to this acclaimed public space, as well as a beautifully landscaped exclusive private courtyard garden, with three individually designed areas.
First completions, at Windsor House and York House are scheduled for 2014 and Tudor House is scheduled for 2015.
