Named in honor of university’s alumni and ex-professor Dr. Clyde Campbell, the new Campbell Hall of Health Sciences building will be located on Faculty Drive, below Shaw Hall on a wooded area of campus.

The new facility will be a four-storey building, which will house administrative space and classrooms. The design of the scheme is congruent with the neoclassical architectural elements of the campus, and will be built in harmony with the overall look of the university.

The building will include six programs of study, namely chemistry, dental hygiene, medical laboratory sciences, nursing, speech pathology/audiology and the newest WLU health science program, physician assistant studies.

The facility is expected to be completed by November 2013. The university is funding the scheme through a $12.75 million grant from the state of West Virginia and donations. The remaining funding will be provided by the University.

The building will be constructed byCanonsburg-based Nello Construction.
