The new five-star luxury will have a beach frontage of 115 meters on the Galle-Matara road in Weligama. The hotel will be a 11-storey building which will feature 200 guestrooms.
The hotel will include three restaurants, as well as a swimming pool with a pool bar. To round the health, fitness and beauty offerings, the hotel will also include a spa and a fitness centre. The Sri Lankan Marriott will also offer 640 square metres of ballroom space for organizing meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibition.
Marriott Weligama Resort and Spa will be operated under Marriott’s flagship Marriott Hotels & Resorts brand. The construction of the hotel is being carried out in-house by East West Engineering Services (Pvt) Limited.
The hotel is expected to open in 2014.
