The Wing A forms part of the larger project at Tudor grange Academy, which involves renovation of the existing buildings on the Bilford Road site into a modern facility complete with a striking new entrance plaza.
The Wing A includes kitchen and dining facilities, a hair and beauty teaching room, classrooms, IT suites and unisex toilets. The entire project is slated for completion before November 2012, which will see the redevelopment of the academy’s main entrance hub, lecture theatre, science laboratories and the courtyard garden area.
The estimated cost of the project is £15 million ($23.14 million), which is being funded through a partnership for schools grant and includes £1.59 million ($2.45 million) for ICT facilities and £300,000 ($462,990) towards the county council’s costs in delivering the scheme.
Tudor Grange Academy, Worcester is a mixed, 11-18 comprehensive school with a capacity to serve 1100 students, including a sixth form of 200 students.
