The newest hotel by Westin brand will be located at the Southern gateway to Wilmington, adjacent to Wilmington’s Chase Center on the Riverfront. The hotel will be a 10-storey structure which will be marked for its sleek design. The new Westin will boast advanced architecture and fresh and impressive interiors.
The hotel will have 180-guestrooms and suites, which will feature 42” HD televisions, oversized work stations, high speed internet access, laptop-safes, and spa-inspired bathrooms. The hotel will also include signature restaurant from the brand, which will be marked for its contemporary design and 21st century interpretation of local dishes.
The lobby lounge offers a place for relaxation, where the guests can enjoy views of the multi-level lounge. The amenities for the guests consist of a fitness centre, oversized indoor swimming pool and business centre.
The hotel will also include more than 2,000 square feet of flexible function space, consisting of a 200-guest capacity ballroom; board room; and hospitality suite. The Westin Wilmington will also have 2,000 square feet Law Center, a dedicated space for law firms.
Construction of the hotel will be done in compliance with the environmental principles, based on which it is likely to win LEED certification. The hotel is slated to open in 2014 and is likely to generate 123 job opportunities in the region. Construction is being undertaken by US-based Buccini/Pollin Group Inc.
