Pursuant to the contract, Lovell will develop 19 new apartments for social rent in Swansea. The project will be located on the former Margaret Street Nursery in Wallace Road, St Thomas. The company has begun construction on the scheme and anticipates completing it in a time-frame of 12 months.

The development will be marked by architecturally value engineered and improved roof scopes, which will result in reduced requirements for future maintenance. Lovell will also reassess the slope stability due to repositioning of blocks.

The development will boast of several innovative techniques which will allow the residents to reap energy cost benefit. The scheme will be developed to comply with Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The development will feature fabric first code strategy to meet the Code 3+ requirement.

The project will be developed as a part of Gwalia Group’s Gorwel Development Framework. The residents will enjoy panoramic views over the new SA1 waterfront development and out to Mumbles Head.
