Uliving, a joint venture between developer Bouygues Development and not-for-profit accommodation operator Derwent Living, will be responsible for delivering 3,000 residential student dwellings on the University’s campus.

The project involves transfer of existing 502 residences of the university and delivery of 2,511 new build units at the College Lane campus of the University in Hatfield. The project also involves development of new sports pitches, a campus gym, informal learning and social spaces and a new dedicated bus route.

The project is set to achieve True Zero Carbon accreditation and meet BREEAM Outstanding status. To be delivered in three phases, the construction on phase I is scheduled to begin in May 2013 and complete in September 2014. The last phase is scheduled for completion in September 2016.

The scheme is in-line with the University’s vision is to create a fully inclusive living and learning environment.
