The new purpose-built facility will be built on the site of former Brynhyfryd Care Home site, and will consolidate the services provided by the Powys Local Health Board and Powys County Council.

The new centre will include 12 new en-suite rooms, extended community nursing hours to enable more support in people’s homes, and faster access to social care services for people in urgent need at home. It will also accommodate physiotherapy and occupational therapy, which will be used for rehabilitating people at home after illness; and offer hospice at home services.

The new centre is scheduled to open in early 2012. The scheme is being built with funding from the Welsh Government.
