Designed by The Martin Ralph Group, the project has converted the former 38 flats scheme for the elderly into new 55 accommodation units. Varying in size, the residential units are a mix of one, two or three-bedroom units, which are completed with WC and bathroom facilities.

The new Agnew Family Centre offers flexible floor plans that enables connection of the accommodation to provide larger units as required. The development also includes 13 communal kitchens, which have been finished with a hob, oven and fridge/freezer.

Additional amenities for the residents include a communal laundry room, communal bathrooms, a modern new lift and an advanced CCTV. To add to the security quotient, the development will have fob key system.

The Agnew Family Centre Kier incorporates several sustainable features, which include photovoltaic cells on the roof, which will generate green power to offset the electricity requirements of the scheme, thereby reducing the operational cost of the development. The scheme also has cavity wall insulation, substantial roof insulation, new double glazing and a state-of-the-art combined heat and power unit, which makes it further energy-efficient. The incorporation of these feature will cut-back heat loss and reduce the amount of fuel required.
