The multi-million renovation project will essentially include the closing of 3400 block of South Clarkson Street to unite the two halves of the campus, reports Our Colorado News. Designed by RTA Architects, the renovation will focus more on improving care.
The portion of the 3400 block of Clarkson will become a drop-off to the main door of the hospital. One of the portion would be designed as a garden-like area. The design will also include a path for bicycles and pedestrians through the block.
The project will add two floors to the east building and one storey to the north building. The new construction will add about 88,000 square feet to the hospital, bringing the total floor space to about 300,000 square feet. This 300,000 square feet proposed addition would provide 91 additional hospital beds. The project would also include the remodeling and modernisation of 110,000 square feet. The expansion would make it possible for each patient to have his or her own room. The project will also increase the number of beds from 85 to 91.
