All the stands at 100% Design are organised by national and regional trade and cultural bodies. For this year’s event, 100% Design has selected a range of countries and companies to showcase leading global design products, and provide a platform for key players from countries across the world including China, Chile, Argentina, Korea, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Hungary and Italy.
Following the success of 2011 exhibition, the talent of young Chilean companies will be presented at 100% Design. Showcasing distinctive tableware, cutlery, lighting and ceramics, some of the designers included in the line-up are Bravo Design, Christine Birkhoven, Great Things to People Design, Isabel Lecaros, Lof Studio, Orlando Gatica, Luxia Lighting and Yerko Tank.
The Czech Trade Promotion Agency has curated a rich and diverse collection of designers like Ton, Lasvit, Brokis, Preciosa Lighting, Mmcite, Lugi, Helena Darbujanova, and Bohemian Works and their products to showcase at 100% Design. The craftsmanship and beauty of crystal glass production as well as the application of new trends in furniture making will be demonstrated.
With over 500 members of design companies and manufacturers, SIDA is a government authorised organisation for companies to start international cooperation home and abroad. Based on a solid industrial foundation in Pearl River Delta, SIDA focuses on innovation, cooperation and upgrading from Made in China to Created in China. Exhibitor on the Shenzhen stand include: Top Design, Liu Jiang Design, and U+Furniture. This year’s exhibition will also showcase work from Guangdong Industrial Design City including Zhang Xinqi, Zhou Anbing, and Kong Minying.
For the third consecutive year, the Argentine Pavilion is being organised by the Trade Promotion Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Argentine Embassy, London. This year the Argentine Pavilion will showcase the work of emerging design talents and leading interiors manufacturers, representing creativity. Included in the Argentine line-up are: Arte Utilitario, Ciciliani Collections, and Luz de Luxe.
A sophisticated use of the technologies borrowed from the local tradition of skilled production such as, the laser cut plates, prototyping and 3D printing has been embraced by the Torino-based exhibitors. Designers include Studio Capellino, Blackbeans, Caino Design, Falabrac, D+Designs. “Rethinking the Product” is a joint project of Prato, Pisa, Pistoia, Lucca and Terni Chambers of Commerce. The project involves different companies from different sectors and a team of young designers in a main goal: creating innovative products through the use of new working techniques or revisiting materials and ideas. “Rethinking the Product” is coordinated by a team of designers which include: Walter Conti, Alfredo Ascari, Bilge Gozde Ozdengil, Tito La Porta, and Daniele Giannetti.
100% France invites the press to discover its interactive pavilion showcasing emerging and renowned designers. This selection of exhibitors offers a combination of cutting-edge design, innovation and technology. New and established designers have been brought together to promote the best in French design. Amongst those participating will be La Boite Concept, Kaer & Splann, Magnetic Spirit, Alex De Rouvray Design, Novidis Architectural Mouldings, Eno Studio and SaintLuc.
For the third time Advantage Austria will be presenting a collection of innovative Austrian design at 100% Design. The stand will combine tradition, precise craftsmanship and industrial production, with the talent of Austria’s up and coming designers. The exhibited products will present the latest ideas, which reflect the ingenuity and variety of the Austrian design scene. Those participating this year include: Design Composite, Doris Darling, Illuminated, Kobleder, Magic Wall, and WOK.
Korea Design 2012 exhibition, which marks its fifth anniversary since its launch in 2008 by KIDP, brings together Korea’s contemporary design, such as furniture, lighting, textile, and interior. The visionaries of Korean design taking part in this years 100% Design include: November Design, Studio Il Hoon Roh, Studio InBetween, Kwon, Seon-Young, KamKam, Dohoon Kim, JooDesign and Fabrikr.
Exhibitors with new product alongside talent not seen before in the UK include Bodor Audio, Judit Gulyas, Anna Regos, Gyongyi Bokor, Nori Vido, Pos1t1on, Andrea Hegedus, Livia Dombi, Kristina Buza, Enterteam, Gabor Bloch and Hannabi.
100% Design is the biggest and most prestigious annual design event in the UK, which provides a platform to promote the UK as the global leader in nurturing new and established names in the design industry. 100% Design 2012 will be held from 19-22 September at Earls Court, London.
