The new project will include a 12-storey, 368,000 square feet apartment complex with 327 units, and a 137,000 square feet parking garage. It will accommodate 232 one-bedroom units and 95 two-bedroom units. Floor plans of 43 units will also include dens. The complex will also feature multiple amenities like fitness centre, yoga studio, community room, pool, and 3,000 square feet of commercial space.

Designed to meet LEED Silver certification, the apartment structure is comprised of cast in place concrete frame with a brick façade. The parking garage features a precast structure and precast skin with thin brick to match the adjacent apartment building.

Site work includes demolition of HITT’s former headquarters located within three office buildings after the company relocated to its current headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia.

After the completion of the project, residents will have access to a variety of programs that comply with Fairfax County’s “Transportation Demand Management” plan including ride share programs and designated car pool areas onsite that serve to lower auto related carbon emissions.

The design build team led by HITT Contracting Inc. includes SBE Associates as project architect; Wyble and Associates, MEP design; Dewberry as Civil Engineer; Gates Hudson and Associates as Property Manager, and developer Rushmark Properties LLC. The project is slated for completion by September 2013.
